Friday 2 July 5pm – 7pm
Aidanfield’s Whānau Hui would love to invite you to our Matariki Celebration! Matariki is the Māori New Year to celebrate the year that has been and the new year ahead. Often families come together to share kai (food) as a community. The stars in Matariki represent different kinds of authentic kai such as food that grows in the ground, above your head (birds/fruit), or from fresh and saltwater (seafood). We would love for you to bring a homemade dish of food, enough to feed your family and to share as we celebrate this important event. This event will take place in the school hall and begin at 5pm with shared kai, followed by a Kapahaka performance, Matariki storytelling by our Aidanfield students along with fun games & activities that align with Matariki. Please BYO cutlery & plates/bowls.
