We are excited to welcome all of our pupils back on Thursday morning this week. School will start at the normal time Thursday morning and we expect to see all our pupils back – unless they are unwell!
As you will have heard from the Prime Minister, schools have 48 hours to prepare for the return of our pupils. What has been happening?
Today (Tuesday): The property was checked and confirmed as ready to go. The cleaners have been through and done their thing and the grounds tidied and aired.
Wednesday 8 September: Our teachers will be at school working in their teams adapting their programmes back to on site lessons. This means there will be no contact with or from your child’s teachers on Wednesday.
If your child was a part of one of the two bubbles that happened at school this week they are welcome to come to school on Wednesday and they will have a similar day to the previous ones. No other pupils will be able to come on Wednesday. This allows our teachers to prepare their spaces and plans.
Thursday 9 September:
- All pupils should be at school and in their classrooms ready to go on time.
- Every child will need their own lunch and morning tea as well as a drink bottle of water (please make sure these are named).
- If you have a school device, this needs to be returned first thing in the morning and must include the charging cord please. It would help if the device was fully charged. The drop off room will be the new staffroom in the Ti Kouka block. Please remember to keep a good social distance (2 meters is recommended) as you wait to drop off the device.
- You will see from a (large) information sheet I will send home Wednesday, we are recommending adults wear a face covering or mask while on the school grounds. This is a personal choice each parent will need to consider. Certainly, you should scan the COVID Tracer QR code when you arrive on the grounds each time, please.
There will be guidelines to help keep everyone safe and I will send these to you on Wednesday by midday. When they arrive, please take the time to read them (they are long and detailed but hopefully will give you confidence in our process and care for your child) and become familiar with what is required and what is encouraged.
As always, if you have any questions or issues, I am more than happy to chat. Please feel free to get in touch via email and I will make contact.
Grace and peace
