Core Subjects Literacy and Numeracy are at the core of the curriculum. The core academic programme (English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies), is important for all pupils, with a focus on critical thinking, problem solving and experimentation. Academic challenge plays an important role, and our pupils are encouraged to compete in academic competitions: - In 2008 a number of our pupils participated enthusiastically in the online competition for World Maths Day. - In 2008 60% of our pupils competing in the ICAS competitions in combinations of English, Mathematics, Science, Spelling and Writing.
